Modern Day Romance

Shannon and Lee are a true modern love story, from meeting online to venue shopping before the question was popped, bringing truth to the phrase, “when you know--you know”. Shannon had her heart set on two things, Lee and one of Orange County’s most unique venues, Rancho Las Lomas.

From start to finish this wedding was truly whimsical. The ceremony included one thousand (and one) hand folded paper cranes to honor the bride’s Japanese heritage and to bring the couple eternal happiness and good luck. The extra crane was carried down the aisle on the bride’s bouquet. After the ceremony, guests moved into a mediterranean style fresh and light reception space complete with florals including dahlias, peach garden roses and fresh kumquats by Leelina Martin. Archive Rentals provided the farmhouse tables and chairs as well as pale blue and blush glassware and chargers with flatware from Signature Party Rentals, that rested upon La Tavola’s exquisite linen. The groom himself crafted the display to showcase the guest’s escort cards. With a nod to the movie Top Gun, the couples close friend printed custom designed escort cards-- nested into a photo booth strip holder-- printed with, “Take me, use me or lose me forever”. Invitations were Printed by Ultimate Design with the same custom design used for the escort cards, as well as embroidered blankets with the crane emblem from the invitations.

The reception was originally set to take place in Rancho Las Lomas’s, El Teatro, but true to Southern California fashion, unpredictability is the weather’s MO.  The uncharacteristically freezing temps took guests from outside--in, but the celebration was never frozen.   

Shannon and Lee were married on a cold February day, surrounded by warm hearts.
